Ben Stewart

Comparisons like David Bowie, Jeff Buckley, Tori Amos and the Muse have followed in the wake of Ben Stewart’s latest album release, Angry Birds (eat tenacious worms). And it’s easy to see why, with Ben’s dynamic, compelling voice wrapped in theatrical jaunt, abstract lyricism and warped pop sensibility "A deft cover of Kate Bush’s Babooshka sits well among Ben’s mix of warped Britpop and quirky Hawksley Workman-isms, and stop-start closer Love Is A Cruel Machine is a better cabaret tune than, say, anything by The Dresden Dolls" (Denis Semchenko, Rave Magazine) Recently Ben has had a bucket of interest thanks to a string of award nominations for 'Love is a Cruel Machine' from 2009 album Angry Birds; which won the Australian Songwriting Associations 'Rock/Indie' award in 2009 and was nominated in the 2010 MusicOZ awards rock category.
